Brown Sugar Peach Syrup
This was SO GOOD and I wanted to share it in case you’re also in peach season. You could absolutely use store bought ice cream. We had a slow Saturday and friends coming over for dinner so I took the occasion to dust off the ice cream maker. Here is the ice cream maker I use and love! And the vanilla ice cream recipe I have used for years. It is the perfect vanilla ice cream!
You Will Need:
- 1-2 ripe peaches, peeled
- 1/3 c dark brown sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
To Make:
- Put the peach, brown sugar, and pinch of salt in a sauce pan on the stove and smash it low and slow, stirring every couple of minutes until it cooks down.
- It will get to a point it looks stringy – have no fear! Let it keep cooking. This took around 30 minutes.
- If needed, give it a quick blend with an immersion blender to get it nice and smooth.
- Serve warm over vanilla ice cream.
Store extra in a glass jar in the fridge; keeps a week to ten days. Enjoy!
