Hello friends! As many of you know, I have been partnering with ABLE for almost a year now. This has hands down been one of the most enjoyable partnerships I have ever done. ABLE is such an incredible company doing so much good for the fashion industry. You can read more in depth about the mission of ABLE here. Two things I love:
They invest in women: Women comprise 95% of our staff at ABLE, but globally they often hold the lowest-paid, least-secure jobs. Yet we know women invest twice as much of their income into their families compared to men. When a woman is economically empowered, her children and community thrive, making her crucial to eradicating poverty. ABLE is committed to ensuring every woman receives treatment and compensation reflective of her immense worth.
They publish their wages: Fashion is one of the largest industrial employers of women worldwide, yet only an estimated 2% of fashion workers are paid a livable wage. ABLE wants to change that, and knows one of the quickest ways companies will change their practices is if their customers demand it. They publish their lowest wages in order to give consumers a clear choice to protect the people making their products.
I want to share with you the 5 products I have used the most often in the last 9 months. I constantly find myself reaching for these things both because of their quality and their versatility. Even in the photos you will see I am constantly mixing and matching my ABLE pieces. They have truly become my staples!
This is the ultimate “hold it all” bag! I use this baby as my work bag and it also doubles as a diaper bag when I need it to. The best part: it’s beautiful! It holds everything I need and still looks classic and stylish. Mine is in the color Cognac. I love this bag so much I got one for my assistant, Jess!
Oh my word. I was not expecting to love and wear this thing as much as I have. Especially during a Charleston summer! Especially pregnant! But that’s what happens when something feels like pajamas and the material is lightweight and breathable. I love how the waistband sits slightly higher than a lot of other jumpsuits. This made it very comfortable to wear even at 24 weeks pregnant. BONUS: there are pockets! And back pockets. And the bottoms are lose enough that I don’t have to invest in some fancy no show underwear just to go out in public. All in all, this is a huge winner.
In my life I have owned 2-3 jean jackets and worn them a cumulative 2-3 times. I couldn’t get over how stiff they all felt. Either oversized and boxy or too small and constricting. I always opt for comfort, so they sat in my closet sad and unworn. That is, until I discovered the Merly! It is now the only jean jacket I own, and what I grab every time we head out to somewhere I think I might get chilly. It truly feels like your mom wore it for years back in the 80s, washed it with fabric softener, and then gave it to you. There have been so many people who order one and then message me to say they can’t get over how soft it is!
When I first got these, I figured I would wear them a few times but still reach for sandals most often. I have been so surprised how often I reach for these even in the height of summer in the south! I love how they make an outfit just a little trendier, and the detail on the back takes them from a normal old white sneaker to a fashion statement. I am a sucker for anything with brown leather!
These are buttery soft. So much so that I actually have the grey in a size up just for sleeping in! Sadly, I my belly is past the point of being able to wear these without it looking like a crop top, but up until 25 weeks I wore these on repeat. These shirts are the perfect wardrobe staple, and you don’t have to worry about the seams coming out or the shirt pilling like so many cheaper tees on the market. I have this shirt in black and grey and really want the sage color when they come back in stock. Good news: ABLE should be getting a huge replenishment of these shirts soon in even more sizes. You can join the waitlist when you click “notify me when available” on the product page.
And there you have it! My top 5 pieces I have been wearing on repeat this summer. Hope this is helpful and you find some ABLE pieces of your own you love.
Mom to four wonderful little people. While they sleep, I cook.
