Johnnys finals match had a lot more people than normal. Family, as well as friends and neighbors, as well as all the people coming to cheer on their own players crowded the sidelines and bleachers. Needless to say, he was nervous.
Nate went and stood by himself in a corner, away from the stands, and told Johnny before the match, “If you get flustered and don’t want to look at the crowd, just look over at me. I’ll be right here.”
He stayed in this spot for the entire match.
It got me thinking about God’s love. About how often I look around, flustered by my mistakes, turning my attention to the crowd. But He’s standing close by, unwavering, saying, “I’ll be right here. I promise I won’t leave.”
Anyways, I am always grateful when a small thing in my daily life reminds me of a big thing about God.
Mom to four wonderful little people. While they sleep, I cook.
