WILW: feta cheese, face sunscreen, a cup, and a picture hanging hack
May 1, 2019
Hello and Happy WILW! If you are new, Wednesdays are when I tell you about things I love that I think you should know about. Totally random items/hacks that are making my life better.
The randomness continues this week. We have got block feta, my new tinted face sunscreen, my favorite water cup, and the amazing way my dad hung the kids’ silhouettes. I sometimes try and group them by a certain category, but other times the randomness just makes it more fun.
First up, block feta cheese. Golly why has no one ever told me how much better this stuff is than the crumbled silliness I have been eating?! It’s more expensive, but so much better tasting. I have fallen in love. You will probably be seeing it all summer. Need an easy recipe using this feta? Try my Summertime Corn Salad!
Secondly, this new tinted sunscreen has been AWESOME. Clean ingredients and covers well. I actually came across it at Whole Foods. I wanted something with a high amount of pure zinc (hello, melasma) and this has 20% which is higher than I have found from most other companies. It’s $30, which is also a decent price for a “clean” beauty product. For me, it’s worth it because it is my sunscreen and foundation in one. I have linked it, but if you have a Whole Foods nearby you could always go and match your color. I also like that it has a pump to get it out. It has been a welcomed new addition for these sunny spring days! They also have it at Target and the price is under $30!!
Third, my beloved water cup. Y’all this goes with my everywhere! My favorite thing to do is fill it with ice water before bed and have ice cold water when I wake up. I try and fill it multiple times a day to up my water intake (mine is 32 ounces). I really like Healthy Human cups. Why? They work super well, don’t leak, and their straws are my favorite. Also, they are local to Charleston! I also love how this cup is huge but still fits in my cup holder!
And lastly, over the weekend my dad hung some pictures for me. The frames were the miserable kind with two different places for nail holes. In a perfect world, I would have had some hanging wire for him. Alas, I didn’t. So Robbie improvised the way only Robbie can: WITH ZIP TIES! And they worked like a charm! I was so impressed. **Also, if you start them a little on the looser side, and are trying to hang things evenly in a row, you can simply tighten the zip tie a but to bring one picture up as opposed to having to make a new nail hole. Thanks Dad!
