Spoonful of Comfort has become one of my favorite, favorite companies. And, personally, my go to when I want to gift a meal to somebody that I’m not geographically close to. I have started doing this instead of sending a gift card because it feels so much more intentional and comes perfectly prepared right to their door. I have been on the receiving end twice, once when I had Alberta and another time recently during our renovation. The Spoonful of Comfort package from my college besties arrived in the chaos of postpartum and I nearly cried when I saw the package show up. If you’re not close to someone and you want to bless them, this is such an easy way to do it. I also love this for those grieving, overwhelmed, sick, etc. The perfect gift when you can’t find the words to express.
The need to eat doesn’t stop when crisis strikes. No matter what their day holds, dinner has to show up on the table. By gifting Spoonful of Comfort, you are lessening the load on their shoulders, and taking care of the most basic human need. The food just shows up to their door ready for them to heat. One less thing for them to have to do if they are grieving, healing, or overwhelmed in a busy season.
It is one thing to have to cook and feed your family during a hard season. It’s a whole other beast thinking of what to cook and taking that burden from them for just a day can make such a difference. When someone really is in a crisis state, it can become paralyzing to make a decision. It’s so nice to not have another decision to make. Never mind the fact that they also won’t have to execute the meal themselves. When they receive the Spoonful of Comfort package, the food is all ready to go it just needs to be reheated!
See the video below. From the quotes on the boxes to the quality of the food, every single aspect of these boxes is so well thought out. They’re also going to get a ladle that comes in every Spoonful of Comfort box that becomes a treasure to keep in their kitchen to remind them how their community cared for them during a tough time. Every box is also just so colorful and bright with meaningful quotes pertaining to food sprinkled throughout. I just love how every single aspect is so well thought out.
Birthdays, Anniversaries, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, there are many occasions throughout the year and coming up with a gift idea can be SO difficult, especially for someone who is hard to shop for. Providing a meal through Spoonful of Comfort is a unique and thoughtful gift that shows you care while also taking care of a basic human need. This could be a great gift for a mom in your life with Mother‘s Day approaching. Something that we’re doing constantly is feeding people – so to be fed is such a gift. The New Parent Care Package for the Mom with a newborn is so thoughtful and well done.
Also, Spoonful of Comfort goes beyond soups! There’s a ton of like really cute add on options when selecting a meal to make the package even more special for the recipient. In addition to the delicious soups, they offer cookies, blankets, pies, socks, candles. You can customize every aspect of your gift. This year, their Mother’s Day collection is a fun flashback of other childhood moments. Packages feature kid-favorite foods in grown-up form, plus all-new versions of gifts that bring back memories with Mom! There are fun pampering themed boxes as well if you’d like to go that route instead.
Again, by providing a Spoonful of Comfort meal, you’ve taken the decision off of the table for someone why may not otherwise know how they are going to execute dinner during a hard season. Whether someone is like going through sickness or tragedy or something incredible like having a new baby, sometimes just thinking about what to eat can be overwhelming.
