Morning, friends! Happy Monday. It’s another gray day here in North Carolina, but there’s a hint of crisp fall-ness in the air so I am not complaining. I planned to go to the gym this morning but instead decided to sleep in. I am so glad I did. I think my body was begging me for some extra rest today. If I am honest, it can be hard for me to listen to my body well and give it breaks when it needs it, but it’s something I am working on in this season.
OK. So about this smoothie. Last Friday when I went to Whole Foods alone for that blissful afternoon, I saw someone order this smoothie. It looked delightful! I wasn’t hungry, but I took note of the ingredients and the name so I could make it at home. It’s delicious. Guess what? There is no kale or spinach in this smoothie (the scandal!). Sure, there could be, but I wanted something extremely basic. And the color is just too pretty! It’s got 4 ingredients. That’s it! And I bet if you have a little person running around they will love it. You could call it the “Purple Monster” or something fun! Oh, and it’s Whole 30 approved (just be sure to check your almond milk) and super filling for all you #septemberwhole30 peeps getting sick of eggs in the morning.
My copycat version of the Whole Foods “Nutty Monkey” smoothie! It only requires 4 ingredients and is sure to please any little mouths you need to feed.
1 cup almond milk
1 frozen banana
1 cup frozen blueberries
2 big spoonfuls almond butter
Mom to four wonderful little people. While they sleep, I cook.
