There, sandwiched right between two of the most important days in history, is the mere 24 hours of Holy Saturday.
Holy Saturday is one of my most favorite days of the year. I think back to how devastating this must have been for that first group of believers. All their hope lost. Hope right in front of their eyes, dead on the cross.
But we are on the other side. All hope is not lost. Hope wins. Jesus conquers death. He is who He says He is. He does what He said He came to do. We know what tomorrow brings.
Holy Saturday is a tangible reminder that I do not need to live in fear and doubt of God’s love for me. The days of waiting for the things in which angels long to look are past. The fear and doubt and sorrow of that first Saturday are gone. We know what tomorrow brings.
May today remind you of the daily realities that we know how the story ends. God’s love was demonstrated on the cross. Justice has been served. And tomorrow, God’s full power will be on display. Death has no victory; death has no sting.
Happy, happy Holy Saturday friends. We know what tomorrow brings.
