I just need to put this out into the world: for the first time ever, I want to write a Naptime Kitchen Cookbook.
This has honestly never been something I desired, but I want to share with you briefly how that changed. While offline last week, the girls and I baked cookies. We took the morning slow, had classical music playing, and I didn’t want to go and find a recipe online. I wanted something in my hands. Something with a picture I could show the girls. Something that didn’t require a screen. I grabbed the Magnolia Table Cookbook off the shelf and we set to work making her chocolate chip cookies.
And right there, in that moment, with the music playing in our pajamas and aprons, I thought for the first time ever: “this is what I want.”
For the longest time, the practical side of me didn’t see the point in a cookbook. I am already on instagram! You can get any of my recipes online! But now, I want it.
I want a way for people to have my recipes in one place. Without any need for internet or screens or a printer. With pages you can write on and spill on. Something you can open with your kids or sit with a cup of coffee and get inspired by. I want it to have all my experience with freezing and defrosting. My tips and strategies for meal planning. Thoughts and ideas for taking a meal to someone who needs it. I want it to be me, in a book.
Anyways, right now it’s just a dream, but I wanted y’all to be the first to know ❤️
Mom to four wonderful little people. While they sleep, I cook.
