Today was one of those days you just want to bottle up and keep with you forever. It has been a really sweet reminder for me just how glorious it is to be home with small children.
While so many days can feel hard and tiring, today was a reminder to me of just how much FREEDOM we have in how we spend our time. We really don’t have a thing we HAVE to do. While filling the hours can feel daunting, it’s actually quite a luxury!
Today, Scout got to deliver donuts to her great-grandfather and sip on hot chocolate with her great-grandmother. We had a spontaneous play date with friends. My mom came over and I was able to go get a haircut. Then we ended the day at a beloved park soaking in the last sunshine before heading home to dinner. Nate got to eat with us. We all played a new game John Robert got for Christmas. Millie practiced walking (a small miracle!) then Nate and I watched Jeopardy.
Not all days are like this. So when one comes along you’ve gotta grab it with both hands and stick it in your pocket. Name it. A sweet moment in time to remember and cherish, no matter what tomorrow brings. Going to bed incredibly grateful
Mom to four wonderful little people. While they sleep, I cook.
