Have you ever “stripped” your towels? It is SO easy and only involves 2 non-toxic ingredients. I do all of our towels, wash clothes, rags, dish towels, and burp clothes. *No detergent needed for this!
The vinegar and baking soda ‘strip’ the old soap and fabric softener residue from your towels. It’s basically like clarifying shampoo for your hair, but for your towels! Added bonus: the vinegar leaves your towels nice and soft!
1. Wash your towels in hot water and 1 cup of white vinegar.
2. Run the towels for a second time with 3/4 cup baking soda and hot water.
3. Dry your towels on HOT until completely dry.
I do this whenever my towels start to feel grimy or have that mildew smell after only using once or twice. Works like a charm ?? let me know if you try it!!

Hi! Thank you for ur tip on cleaning towels. I wanted to ask.. i am using a small portable washing machine, (it cleans amazingly well)and I followed ur instructions. Towels were very soapy after the rinse with baking soda. Can I rinse with cold water after to get more soap out? I did ur instructions 2x hopefully they come out the dryer fluffy! Do u put anything like nounce in the dryer?
Ah so weird I have never had an issue. But yours might have a ton of soap to strip out. You’re not washing with detergent right? Just the vinegar cycle followed by the baking soda cycle?
