Recently Berta had people over for dinner and I came early to assist her in the kitchen before they arrived. She thought I was there to help; I was secretly there to observe.

I learn something every time I watch my mom in the kitchen. She has hosted more dinner parties than I could count. She can cook a main dish and the sides. She thinks through the timing and the oven and setting the table ahead of time. She has so much experience in this area.

I guess I just want this photo to live here forever. A treasure: My mom, the hour before a dinner party, completely in her element ❤️????
