The temps are in the 70s today which means it’s time for a post about homemade iced tea! It’s so cost effective and delicious and you can easily sweeten.
I did the math and a venti iced tea from Starbucks is $2.65
40 @traderjoes decaf Irish breakfast tea bags (yes, 40!!!) costs $2.49… SO… you can make your very own unsweet tea for approximately 6 cents. I do decaf so i can enjoy in the late afternoon sunshine. Similarly, a giant box of @wholefoods green tea with 70 tea bags costs $3.99…SO…that’s about 5 cents. WOW!
HERE’S WHAT I DO:
Boil a kettle of water and place one tea bag per 16 oz.mason jar (if using a larger mason jar, use 2 tea bags) and once the water boils i just fill them up. I leave them to sit on the counter till cool, then remove the tea bag, cover with a lid, and store in the fridge. No idea how long they last but I’ve let mine sit a few weeks and it’s been completely fine.
If you like a fruity tea, you gotta try this with @traderjoes pomegranate white!!! It is BLISS in a jar!
NEED A LITTLE SWEETNESS!?
Try adding honey to the jar while the water is still nice and hot so it incorporates well. Ta Da!
HERE ARE THE LINKS FOR THE MASON JAR LIDS I USE:
They are off amazon, don’t leak, and priced WAY better than the Target ones. Happy sipping and have a most lovely Sunday!
